At the finish line area of each race, adhesive tags with pre-printed finishing place (separate for men and women) are handed to each runner in the order of finish. It is the responsibility of each runner to complete the information on the tag and promptly turn it in at the results area. At a minimum, the following information is required: name, age, and time. Some races with special divisions will require additional information (such as weight for races with weight divisions).
The finishing tags are collected at the results table and mounted on finishing boards. The race scorers determine overall and age group awards by inspecting these boards. After the race event is complete, the boards are used to manually input all finishers into a race scoring program. Output files from this program are reformatted and used to create the results listings available on this web site and in the Footprints publication.
