The New Orleans Track Club Grand Prix Series is to recognize those club members who have consistently participated in club events and have performed well within their age division throughout the year. All members of the NOTC are eligible for the series and receive points per their division for each Grand Prix Series race. To be eligible for series awards, you must participate in at least half of the series races. An awards ceremony will be held in early 2009 to present awards to winners in each division and series completion T-shirts.

Ages 8-Under, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Youth division series races are events with distances of 1 mile or less.
New divisions this year! Ages 17-Under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-Over.
Open (39-Under); Masters (40-49); Grandmasters (50-59); Seniors (60-69); Legends (70-Over).
Your age at the end of the calendar year is the age you compete in throughout the GP series. You will not transfer to another division until the next year. (Note: Your age for individual races with age group awards is your age on race day.)
Your membership must be valid on race day to earn Grand Prix points.
Grand Prix points are assigned to the top 10 NOTC members in each division as follows: 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10.
In events of 10K distance and over points are awarded in each division as follows: 150, 135, 120, 105, 90, 75, 60, 45, 30, 15. Points are not combined. Should a participant run more than one distance on the day of race, he or she will be credited with the race scoring the most points (not a combination).
In the event of a tie 1 point will be awarded per event.
All competitive Racewalkers must sign in prior to the race start (after official race registration for the event) at the Racewalker table. They will be issued additional race numbers for course judging purposes as well as special "Scoring Dots" that must be attached to their scoring tags.
Racewalkers that are disqualified on course by the judges will not be eligible for division points in that event. Racewalkers may not run at any time. Their clothing must not obscure the knees. Pacing devices are not permitted. Check with Racewalking coordinators if you have questions.
Points for judging (for judging info contact racewalking coordinators) are the average points for the first six races (not to exceed 100 points). Should there be GP race cancellations, the six race average will be reduced to half of the GP series races held. Please contact the racewalking coordinators should you have any questions.
NOTC Grand Prix standings are posted on the NOTC web site. Updates are posted approximately 2 to 3 weeks after each Grand Prix race. Contact the Grand Prix coordinator or NOTC via phone at 504-467-8626 with any questions or comments concerning your point total as soon as possible.
You must compete in a minimum of half of the Grand Prix events in your division (Adult Runners, Youth Runners, Racewalking) in order to be eligible for awards. The top five runners and walkers in each division will receive awards. An awards ceremony will be held in January to present awards to winners in each division.
NOTC members are eligible for the 2008 GP Series T-shirt if they compete in all NOTC GP series races (regardless of points scored). Upon completion of the series qualifying members must notify the NOTC Grand Prix coordinator via e-mail, fax (504-469-9268) or snail mail (P.O. Box 52003, New Orleans, LA 70152-2003). Please include shirt size with correspondence.
Now get out there and run or walk!
