108th Annual NOAC Turkey Day Race

The NOAC Turkey Day Race is open to all runners and walkers, NOAC and NOTC members and nonmembers alike.

Thursday, November 26, 2015
7:00 AM – Race-day registration and packet pick-up opens
8:10 AM – Early start for 5 Mile racewalkers
8:30 AM – Start of 5 Mile Race
8:35 AM – Start of Youth Half Mile



The Turkey Day 5 Mile course is run in and around City Park, finishing in Tad Gormley Stadium.


Awards will be distributed shortly after the race.

5 Mile Awards

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall Male and Female
  • 1st Youth Male and Female (15-under)
  • 1st Master Male and Female (40-over)
  • 1st Grandmaster Male and Female (50-over)
  • 1st Senior Male and Female (60-over)
  • 1st Legend Male and Female (70-over)
  • 1st Racewalker Male and Female

Youth Half Mile Awards

  • 1st thru 5th Male and Female Overall (12 and under)

It is the responsibility of athletes that finish in the awards to note any necessary corrections on race day. If an error is discovered post-race we'll be happy to correct your results and update the website accordingly. However, if you do not inform us of this issue before your award is given out we will no longer have an award to give to you and we can't remake awards.

Timing and Scoring

The races will be electronically timed and scored. You must wear your race bib and D-tag properly to be scored. Your race bib must be worn on the front of your torso and be visible at the finish line. Your D-tag must be worn properly on one of your shoes. See Chronotrack D-Tag Instructions for details.

Preliminary results will be posted at the race site at the conclusion of the race. Full results will be published on the NOTC web site after the race.


T-shirts only guaranteed to preregistered participants!


Post-race refreshments include water from Kentwood Springs and beer from Crescent Crown Distributing. Others to be announced.


Registration is open to NOAC and NOTC members and nonmembers alike. All participants must be registered and wear an official race bib while on the course.

5 Mile

  • $15.00 – Registered by Aug 23
  • $20.00 – Registered Aug 24 thru Sep 13
  • $25.00 – Registered Sep 14 thru Nov 19
  • $30.00 – Registered after Nov 19 thru race day

Youth Half Mile

  • $15.00 – Registered by Nov 19
  • $20.00 – Registered after Nov 19 thru race day

NOTC Family

  • $50.00 – NOTC family registered by Nov 19
  • No family registration after Nov 19

Family registration is available to NOTC member families registered by November 19 only and includes registration for two adults and other family members age 20 and under living in the same household.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Sorry, no exceptions.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration will be available at the race site starting at 7:00 AM. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Credit card must be presented.

Packet Pickup

Early packet pickup will be available Monday and Tuesday, November 23 and 24, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM at Louisiana Running Company, 4153 Canal St, New Orleans. Late registration will be available.

Race-day packet pickup will start at 7:00 AM at the race site.

Headphone Policy

For your safety and the safety of others the NOTC and the RRCA discourage the use of headphones during the running or walking of the event.

Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans


The NOAC Turkey Day race benefits Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans (SBGNO), a non-profit, tax-exempt, organization for the expressed purpose of providing services to those persons born with Spina Bifida, and their families, and to increase awareness about Spina Bifida and its prevention.
