Finisher medals to the top 500 finishers. Shirts to preregistered runners.

Outside festival with food, drinks, and live entertainment to follow run on neutral ground outside of Tipitina's venue at 501 Napoleon Ave. Costumes are encouraged and prizes for "Best Individual Musician Costume" and "Best Musical Group Ensemble" will be announced at the post-race party.

The Tipitina's Foundation Rhythm & Blues Run is open to all runners and walkers, NOTC members and nonmembers alike.

4:00 PM – Race-day registration and packet pick-up opens
5:00 PM – Start of 5K


Tipitina's Uptown, 501 Napoleon Ave at Tchoupitoulas St.


The 5K course is out-and-back on scenic Tchoupitoulas Street, starting and finishing outside Tipitina's Uptown at Napoleon Avenue.


Finisher medals to the first 500 finishers.

Awards will be distributed shortly after the race.

  • 1st Youth Male and Female (15-Under)
  • 1st Master Male and Female (40-Over)
  • 1st Grandmaster Male and Female (50-Over)
  • 1st Senior Male and Female (60-Over)
  • 1st Racewalker Male and Female
  • Best Individual Musician Costume
  • Best Musical Group Ensemble

It is the responsibility of athletes that finish in the awards to note any necessary corrections on race day. If an error is discovered post-race we'll be happy to correct your results and update the website accordingly. However, if you do not inform us of this issue before your award is given out we will no longer have an award to give to you and we can't remake awards.

Timing and Scoring

The races will be electronically timed and scored. You must wear your race bib and D-tag properly to be scored. Your race bib must be worn on the front of your torso and be visible at the finish line. Your D-tag must be worn properly on one of your shoes. See Chronotrack D-Tag Instructions for details.

Preliminary results will be posted at the race site at the conclusion of the race. Full results will be published on the NOTC web site after the race.

Race refreshments include beer from New Belgium Brewing and NOLA Brewing, Kentwood Springs water, and food, drinks, and snacks from Acme Oyster House, Atchafalaya, Carmo, Chiba, Deanie's Seafood, Dick and Jenny's, Raising Cane's, Cook Me Somethin' Mister, Smoothie King, Elmer's Chee Wees, and Baker Maid.

Note: You must 21 or older and present a government-issued photo ID at the race to receive a wristband for beer access.



Registration is open to NOTC members and nonmembers alike. All participants must be registered and wear an official race bib while on the course.

Entry Fees

  • $25 – NOTC member registered by September 20
  • $30 – Nonmember registered by September 20
  • $20 – Youth (20-under) registered by September 20
  • $50 – NOTC family registered by September 20
  • $35 – All entrants registered after September 20

Family registration is available to preregistered NOTC member families only and includes registration for two adults and other family members age 20 and under living in the same household. Separate entry forms are required for each family member.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Sorry, no exceptions.

Race Day Registration

Race day registration will be available at the race site starting at 4:00 PM. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Credit card must be presented.

Packet Pickup

Early packet pickup will be available at Tipitina's Uptown, 501 Napoleon Ave, Thursday, September 24, from 6 until 8pm. A $2 draft beer special and late registration will also be available.

Race-day packet pickup will start at 4:00 PM at the race site.

Headphone Policy

For your safety and the safety of others the NOTC and the RRCA discourage the use of headphones during the running or walking of the event.
