The 104th Annual Turkey Day Race proved to be historical in more ways than one. Record numbers turned out for the Thanksgiving Day tradition of getting in their run before the feast. Temperatures in the 50's, a slight breeze and not a cloud in the sky brought out 2843 runners for the annual 5 mile and half mile races.

Pat Gavin of Louisiana Running Company, who helped sponsor the race, and Sarah Skotty, running for Southern Runner, defended their titles for the third consecutive year. Pat finished in 25:11 and Sarah finished in 28:16. Second overall male and female were Matt Manning in 25:41 and Megan Gohres in 30:32. Third overall was Mark Mendrek-Laske in 25:58 and Kate Accardo 31:05. The top two race walkers were David Bozant and Tank for the men and Anne Marie St. Clair and Jane Phelps for the women. The overall winners of the half mile were Richard Kee and Lucy Bernick.

Thanks to our sponsors: Louisiana Running Company, Kentwood Springs Water, Crescent Crown Distributors, and Abita Brewing Company. And thanks to our volunteers. So many of you gave your time and effort to helping make this event a success.
