It's a family tradition – come out and run before the feast!

The NOAC Turkey Day Race is open to all runners and walkers, NOTC members and nonmembers alike.

Date and Time

Thursday, November 28, 2013
7:00 AM – Race-day registration and packet pick-up opens
8:30 AM – 5 Mile start
Half-Mile starts after the 5 Mile

Location

Tad Gormley Stadium, City Park, New Orleans, LA

Parking

DO NOT PARK on the neutral grounds of Marconi Drive or Roosevelt Mall – your vehicle will be ticketed or towed. Park in the paved lot in front of the stadium or across from Storyland on Victory Drive.

Course

The 5 Mile and Half-Mile courses are run inside City Park and finish on the track inside Tad Gormley Stadium.

T-Shirts

T-shirts will be distributed to preregistered entrants on race day beginning at 7:00 AM. Race-day entrants may pick up their shirt after the race while supplies lasts. You must have your official race number with the T-shirt tab to receive a shirt.

T-shirt size and availability only guaranteed to pre-registered entrants.

Timing and Scoring

The races will be electronically timed and scored. You must wear your race bib and D-tag properly to be scored. Your race bib must be worn on the front of your torso and be visible at the finish line. Your D-tag must be worn properly on one of your shoes. See Chronotrack D-Tag Instructions for details.

Preliminary results will be posted at the race site at the conclusion of the race. Full results will be published on the NOTC web site after the race.

Awards

Awards will be distributed shortly after the race.

  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male and Female
  • 1st Youth Male and Female (15-Under)
  • 1st Master Male and Female (40-Over)
  • 1st Grandmaster Male and Female (50-Over)
  • 1st Senior Male and Female (60-Over)
  • 1st Legend Male and Female (70-Over)
  • 1st, 2nd Racewalker Male and Female

Kids' Half-Mile

Top five male and female finishers age 2-15.

Refreshment details to be announced.

Registration

Registration is open to NOTC members and nonmembers alike. All participants must be registered and wear an official race bib while on the course.

Entry Fees

Entry fees are non-refundable. Sorry, no exceptions.

5 Mile

  • $20 – registered by October 31, 2013
  • $25 – registered November 1-21, 2013
  • $30 – registered on race day

Kid's Half-Mile (ages 2-15)

  • $10 – registered by October 31, 2013
  • $15 – registered November 1-21, 2013
  • $20 – registered on race day

NOTC Family

  • $50 – registered by November 21, 2013
  • No family registration on race day

Family registration is available to preregistered NOTC member families only and includes registration for two adults and other family members age 20 and under living in the same household. Separate entry forms are required for each family member. Family registration includes two T-shirts; additional T-shirts are available for family members for $5 each.

Late and Race Day Registration

Late registration will be available at packet pickup. Race day registration will be available at the race site starting at 7:00 AM. Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Credit card must be presented.

Packet Pickup

Early packet pickup will be available at Louisiana Running Company, 4153 Canal St, New Orleans, Monday and Tuesday, November 25 and 26, from 3:00-7:00 PM. Late registration will be available during packet pickup.

Race-day packet pickup will be available at the race site starting at 7:00 AM.

Headphone Policy

For your safety and the safety of others the NOTC and the RRCA discourage the use of headphones during the running or walking of the event.

Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt organization for the expressed purpose of providing services to those persons born with Spina Bifida and their families, and to increase public awareness about Spina Bifida and its prevention. The Organization consists of individuals with Spina Bifida, their families, and other interested persons united to enhance the quality of life for persons with Spina Bifida. The association's mission is "to promote the prevention of Spina Bifida and to support the needs of individuals with Spina Bifida and related disorders".
