NOTC teams took second place in the Women's Open and Men's Open divisions of the team competition at the Azalea Trail Run held Saturday, March 25th in Mobile, AL.

The women's team included Allison Moll, Santilla Victorian, Billie Sloss, Laura Magann, and Rosa Bischoff. The men's team included Nick Accardo, Tom Sawyer, Byron Adams, Bill Plunkett, Alexander Thomas, and Paul Bodet.

NOTC Members' March Out of Town Race Results

Bryan Smith forwarded several marathon results that included: B & A Trail Marathon, March 5th in Annapolis, MD, setting a new masters course record with a time of 2:41:26. He also won the Seabrook Trail Marathon in Seabrook, TX on March 19th with a time of 2:47:15 which was a new course record. Then on April 8th he set a new masters record at the Eisenhower Marathon in Abilene, KS in a time of 2:42:56. Also running the B & A Marathon was Steve Chyzyk who finished in a time of 3:45:35.

Brian Jackson has been busy with his 50 States and DC marathon venture and reports the following: Disney World Marathon, January 8 in a time of 3:36:34; Rock N Roll Arizona Marathon, Phoenix, January 15 in a time of 4:04:07; Mercedes Marathon, Birmingham, AL, February 12 with a time of 3:48:56; Little Rock Marathon, March 5 with a time of 4:43:25; and the Shamrock Sports Fest Marathon, Virginia Beach, VA, March 19 with a time of 4:33:23.

Tom Luongo reports some results while teaching in Italy at the American Academy in Rome. On March 5th he ran the Roma-Ostia half-marathon which is Italy's largest half-marathon and finished in a time of 1:19:44. Tom's wife Lisa Luongo completed the race in a time of 1:41:30. On March 26th, Tom completed the Marathon della Citta' di Roma (Rome Marathon) in a time of 2:54:11.

National Run @ Work Day

On September 22, 2006, the Road Runners Club of America will launch the National Run @ Work Day. This day is an evolution of the Run to Work program. The goal of the National Run @ Work Day will be for RRCA members across the country to host community based events encouraging people to incorporate at least thirty-five minutes of exercise into their daily lives. 50 in 50 in 50; Sam Thompson Does New Orleans

Sam Thompson shown here running through Audubon Park on the Mardi Gras Marathon course. His time of 3:29:01 was the best time of his 50 states run. Several NOTC members on foot and on bikes and numerous spectators along the course welcomed Sam Thompson to New Orleans for his 49th marathon 49 days. Having run the Mardi Gras Marathon in 2005 and setting his PR there he planned to make this race his fastest of the 50 marathon odyssey. A finish time of 3:29:01 was accomplished in very humid and warm conditions. The run began at about 6:20 AM in front of the Superdome. He ran accompanied by several NOTC members on foot and on bikes. Others spread out on the course to cheer on his efforts. The NOTC provided a lead vehicle that had water and gatorade along the route. For more information visit www.50in50in50.com.
