Two New Orleans-based teams competed in the Hood to Coast Relay, a 198 mile relay (okay 197.8 miles, who measured it?). The relay is the largest in the USA, starting on Mt. Hood (Oregon) and finishing in Seaside on the Pacific Coast. Both teams had excellent results, congratulations to all. Teams consist of 12 runners.
Placed 6th out of 35 teams in the open division and 175th out of 984 teams overall! Time: 25:20:59.

Pikes Peak Marathon. Steve Attaya, 7:36:34; Ron Williams, 10:16:00. Ron did the marathon as the final leg of the Triple Crown Series that includes two other distances. The Pikes Peak Marathon is up to the 14,100 foot summit and back down.
Gladwyn Ulitalo did the Suzuki Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego in a time of 4:58:53 and won first place in her age group (60-64)!
Bryan Smith hit the road in fine style recently to record a 2nd overall and 1st masters at the Bend Marathon in Oregon with a time of 2:49:49 and followed that up with a 2nd overall and 1st masters at the Tupelo Marathon with a 2:46:37. Others running the Tupelo Marathon included Brendan Minihan, Jr. (3rd overall at 2:54:22), Fillis Friedman (third overall female and 1st masters at 3:45:35), Scott Muller (3:27:35), Joe Wills (3:56:56), Jim Cook (5:10:52), and Jerry Sullivan (5:30:37). The Tupelo Race also had a 14.2 miler in which Brandon Wingate was the overall winner in a time of 1:27:09. Others included Will Hohenschutz (1:53:32), David Sears (1:53:33), Cecil St. Clair (2:01:53), Ann Wills (2:06:55), and Ann Marie St. Clair (2:16:23).
Rudy Smith ran the Marathon des Deux Rives in Quebec City, Canada in a time of 4:30:36.
Jerry Brumfield did the Green Bay Marathon in Wisconsin with a time of 3:40:59.

Terry Blackwell won the wheelchair division of the New Mexico Marathon in Albuquerque, NM. on September 8th in a time of 1:59:52. He also participated in the Governors Cup Marathon in Helena, Montana and finished in a time of 1:55:23 and the Tupelo Marathon, September 2 in 2:06:12.
Randy Roberge, competed in both "music" marathons with a 5:12:00 in the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, TN, April 27 followed by a 5:33:00 at the Rock-n-Roll Marathon in San Diego, CA, June 2.
